Hello! I am Brittany, and I’ll admit I’m a New England transplant… Definitely still working on my accent!
MY WHAT
Now that that’s out of the way, I am a candid, documentary-style photographer, and I’ve been practicing photography since ~2007 from Pennsylvania to Japan to Seattle to Washington D.C., and now Rhode Island!
With me, you can expect an unobtrusive professional who is dedicated to capturing your event with passion, integrity, and an eye for pure, real moments regardless of the venue or occasion.
But, what does that even mean? I’m not your typical photographer. I only use flash when absolutely necessary but never when it’s inappropriate or distracting, such as in hearing rooms during delicate proceedings. Additionally, I will not pose your guests because I believe that results in disingenuous moments. I strive to tell your event’s story in the truest possible way, which means capturing genuine human emotions during genuine moments.
MY WHY
“Photography is the only activity that allows me to just be. It’s where I thrive.”
I live with a lifelong disorder resulting from numerous traumas and, from an artistic perspective, I’ve uncovered a through-line between my experiences and innate draw toward capturing deep emotion and raw life without interference. The “good” and the “bad.” The “mundane” and the “exciting.”
While no moment will ever happen twice in the same exact way, there is no guarantee we will see the same person or people again in the way they once were, with all their perfections and imperfections. Time is something we can never get back, so freezing it in real-time is our best option. If only time machines existed!
